As part of London's The Globe Theatre's world tour, Hamlet is to be performed by the UK's best thespians at Egypt's Bibliotheca Alexandrina...
One of Shakespeare's most beloved and quoted works hits Egypt next month, as the Globe to Globe tour of Hamlet lands at Alexandria's historic library on January 12th. The two year tour made up of Britain's top thespians has already traveled to 65 countries, making up a whopping 96,000 KMs, performing shows in South America, the Caribbean, the USA, Eastern Europe and more. The stripped down version of the iconic play is performed by just multi-cultural 12 actors, with no elaborate sets or effects - just the poignant prose and poetry of The Bard himself.
With plenty of rave reviews, this is a rare chance to get a taste of London's historic West End theatre, right here in Egypt, and catch the same show that received a standing ovation when it was performed in front of the UN. Tickets are bound to sellout fast so get yours at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina box office, or Teatro Maadi in Cairo.
