New features and options are also being introduced in Tanta and Monoufia by the ride-hailing app.
While cruising Aswan's beautiful corniche or contemplating taking a Nile ferry, blocking out all hantour (horse carriage) and felucca (ferries) drivers barging into your thoughts and offering unsolicited rides can be somewhat challenging. Even if you do intend to go on one, it's even more challenging to tell if you've just been ripped off by the driver's own interpretation of what a suitable fare is. In a new statement by Careem, however, it has been announced that on-demand feluccas and hantours will soon be available through its app in Aswan and Monoufia governorates, which could potentially prove to be massively popular amongst tourists and locals alike.
"Careem Egypt is a local brand, meaning we understand well what our customers need across different Egyptian governorates, and we're going to offer a different range of services that cater to their demands and needs," said Wael Aboulela, board member at Careem Egypt, to Masrawy.
Aboulela added that Careem Egypt has launched 'Go Mini' feature in Tanta, which mobilises a fleet of smaller vehicles which demand less fuel and maintenance, enabling the ride-hailing app to offer its services in the Delta city at reduced prices, which would appeal to previously neglected client segments.)
